I know it’s been sweater weather for some time but here in Ohio it’s finally getting to the point where we can wear sweaters without second guessing our choices. The weather around here never seems to normalize until at least December 1st and even then you may get hit for a 50 degree weather day followed by snow the next. Case in point, the day we took these pictures it was a chilly 32 degrees outside and we saw light snow flurries for a few minutes. Today it’s 55 and sunny. You never know what you’re going to get in southern Ohio!

When the weather does chill out I get excited to pull out my sweaters. There’s just something about a cozy sweater on a cold day that just makes me happy. It means extra cuddles (and naps) on the couch and stocking up on new and cute new sweaters for the season.

I tend to pic up 2-3 new sweaters each season and rotate out old ones that don’t make the cut. I aim to find classic, practical and comfy styles that will go with anything. I love a good trend but when it comes to my layers I want the basics. Think cableknits, turtlenecks and fair isles. You can’t go wrong with these styles.

I buy a new fair isle sweater each year because those tend to get the most use in my closet. My favorites tend to be from Old Navy or J.Crew.

When it comes to turtlenecks I like this option from H&M or this one from LOFT.

Can you ever go wrong with a classic cableknit? J.Crew always has THE BEST selection.
